Call us wimps, but we are kind of freezing. It's not so much that its unbearably cold; it's not. The issue is the speed of the change. Two months ago we were in the oppressive heat of Nashville. Right now it is 37 F with extremely strong winds. Last week we had flurries (October 13th!).
Those of you who know Kendall can be assured that she is constantly swaddled in every type of drape and cape that she can find. She looks like vegan superhero. A lady at work asked her if she knew she was allowed to wear pants and shorts (this is a legitimate question in the middle east) and Kendall had to explain that she just dresses like this. Her room has two space heaters going full blast through the entire school day.
But don't worry: Our apartment has old school central heating. We hear the creaks and moans of our building and know that within 15 minutes the apartment will feel like a jungle. The first night that our landlord turned on the heat we both slept on top of the sheets with the windows open. We've since learned that we can adjust our radiators. We've turned it down from setting 1 - "surface of the sun hot" to setting 2 - "Venezuelan summer". It's a relief.
Things are going well here. The kids are still nuts, the dogs are still scary, and the language is still gibberish. We're enjoying every minute of it.
