It's not often I can sneak Zelda into my posts.
Whoa. That was fast. The year's over. We just had a half day, which is the last time we will meet with all of the upper school classes. Tomorrow is a general assembly and graduation. It's hard to believe we've been here for a year. Time sometimes feels so relative. In ways this year has flown by. The feeling of first walking into the Turkish supermarket and feeling overwhelmed is still very fresh. In other ways, it feels like we have been here years. Regardless, we miss you all and will be home Thursday. These last 3 days will be like a flash, but also in slow mo. We need to finish curriculum guides, write a 6 page paper over "our philosophy of education" in order to continue our teaching licences, clean our classrooms, pack to come home, move all our other stuff into a new apartment, and board a plane in the middle of the night. From there we have a 24 hour blur of connecting flights that will take us through 4 countries on 3 continents. But sometime (hopefully) Thursday night we will land in that glorious land that is Tennessee. As Ryan Adams says: "the sweetest winds, they blow across the south". I might just agree with him, but maybe that's just because no one wears deodorant in Turkey. We miss your faces and voices, and can't wait to be with you. See you later this week! -B+K

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you, Burger King. That Zelda reference is so good. Also, the deodorant thing is punny.
