HAPPY EASTER
He is Risen! Happy Easter from Ankara. Even though we are missing everyone at home a lot today, we are thankful for a great Easter in Turkey. We thought about trying to make some of our favorite foods from home, but then we began to realize we would never be able to imitate our family Easter without the people. We decided instead to make it very simple and have a picnic at the park with Turkish food (and an American cake we baked with funfetti icing thanks to Phyllis, Bo's mom:)). It was a beautiful day with the sun shining, and it turned out to be a wonderful Easter lunch. We ate classic Turkish food (doner sandwiches and french fries). We laughed a lot thinking about the ridiculousness of our Easter lunch. We read laying on the blankets in the sun. And we watched some kids playing flag football in the park (Bo was wishing they would ask him to play the whole time...but sadly I think they probably thought he was too old ha). Oh, and the kids found the cutest little puppy under a tree, so we got to play with it for a bit.

Anyway, we just wanted to say "Happy Easter" and that we miss and love you all!
